Las Posas Road's Errand Center Keeps Its Anchors and Rotates Its Restaurants. Pizza and Ice Cream Are Next.

Las Posas Road's Errand Center Keeps Its Anchors and Rotates Its Restaurants. Pizza and Ice Cream Are Next.

How many times have you driven past Suite H at 2390 Las Posas Road and seen a different name over the door? If you live in Las Posas Estates and do your errands at Camarillo Village Square, the answer is probably more than you remember. This fall two "coming soon" signs are up again at that one address, one for pizza and one for ice cream. It's a good time to look at which parts of the center change and which never do.

Camarillo Village Square sits at Las Posas Road and Arneill Road, with Sprouts and Ross as its anchors. The rest of the list is familiar to anyone who uses the center every week. Ace Hardware, PetSmart and Big 5 Sporting Goods are there. So are the fitness studios, including Club Pilates, Orangetheory, StretchLab and The Heated Room, and a food row with Starbucks, Mika Sushi, Luv 'n Eat Ramen, Ruby's Mexican Restaurant and Ric's Restaurant & Sports Lounge. Those tenants are why the center feels like it never changes. Most of the actual turnover happens in a couple of small suites.

What Is Actually Coming, and What Is Confirmed

The center's own "What's New?" page lists two food tenants as coming soon, both at 2390 Las Posas Road.

Suite Incoming tenant What we know as of September 22, 2026
Suite J Slice House by Tony Gemignani Announced in July. The team had no opening timeline to share, and the brand's California location list doesn't include Camarillo yet
Suite H Handel's Homemade Ice Cream A job listing dated September 14 said the store would open in November, with staff training starting in October

The center's page still lists both as coming soon, so neither one is open today. The Slice House news came out on July 14, 2026. What Now Los Angeles reported that the local franchisee, Vinny Margott, had announced the Camarillo location on social media. When the outlet asked about timing, his team had nothing more to share. Visit Camarillo still lists it as "Coming soon," with no date.

Margott already runs Slice House locations in Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Porter Ranch, Santa Clarita, Burbank and Universal City. In July, a Ventura location in Montalvo Square was expected to open that month as his seventh. A later update from the Conejo Valley Guide put the Ventura opening at August 8, 2026, at 1780 Victoria Avenue. The shopping center describes the menu this way:

"Originating from San Francisco's iconic North Beach neighborhood, Slice House provides a diverse menu from signature New York, Detroit, Grandma, and Sicilian style pizzas, including health-conscious options, complemented by a hand-picked selection of local craft brews and natural wines."

Pizzas come whole or by the slice, alongside salads, pastas and wings. The Suite J space itself isn't new to pizza. Slice House is moving into the former Pizza Man Dan's.

The only November date for Handel's comes from a job posting that has since expired. Handel's own store locator doesn't list Camarillo yet. Residents who already like the brand have been driving to the Oxnard store at 751 Town Center Drive or the Thousand Oaks store at 166 W Hillcrest Drive. The Camarillo store would bring that scoop within a few minutes of home.

Suite H, One Tenant at a Time

Suite H shows the turnover best. The Ventura County Star reported in October 2016 that Daphne's California Greek had moved out of Suite H and the space was being built out for RELM Wine & Beer Bistro. RELM was still at that address in an April 20, 2021 City of Camarillo planning document. By 2024, Visit Camarillo listed Onyx Bistro there. Handel's is next.

That makes four food concepts in one suite over about ten years:

  1. Daphne's California Greek, gone by fall 2016
  2. RELM Wine & Beer Bistro, built out after 2016 and on record there in 2021
  3. Onyx Bistro, listed there in 2024
  4. Handel's Homemade Ice Cream, planned for November 2026

Each change moved the suite to a different kind of meal: Greek counter service, then a wine and beer bistro, then a bistro again, and now a dessert shop. Suite J is changing from one pizza shop to another, so its role in the center stays the same. For residents, the 2390 building is where the center's food choices change. The rest of the center is where their routine stays the same.

The center's other recent arrivals follow that same split. Five Below opened at 2400 Las Posas Road, Suite B, a retail box on the anchor side. Spirit Halloween is back for the season at 2450 Las Posas Road, Suite H. One is a steady retail tenant. The other shows up each fall and leaves after the holiday.

The Shop Across the Way That Hasn't Moved

A few doors away at 2153 Las Posas Road is Rolling Pin Donuts, a standalone shop of about 400 square feet near Las Posas and Arneill. It celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024 and was still operating as of late August 2026, according to the Camarillo Acorn. Even a car crashing through its display window only closed it for a while. The Ventura County Star reported in April 2025 that the shop had reopened.

Between them, Suite H and Rolling Pin sum up the corner. Over the same stretch that Suite H went through four concepts, the 400-square-foot donut shop stayed put. An ordinary Saturday here can include a donut from a shop that has been around for three decades, groceries from an anchor that doesn't change, and a meal at whichever concept is in the 2390 building that year.

The Club Up the Hill Has Its Own Fall Calendar

The routine up the hill has its own dates this fall. Las Posas Country Club at 955 Fairway Drive is reached from Las Posas Road by way of Crestview Drive and Valley Vista Drive. It is hosting several community events that aren't limited to members:

  • Saturday, October 10: The Brain Injury Center's 23rd annual Evening of Magical Memories Gala starts at 5 p.m. with a champagne reception, auctions, dinner and awards.
  • Monday, November 2: CalCPA holds a golf tournament with open registration. Registration and breakfast start at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start and lunch and awards around 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 7: AAUW Camarillo's Authors' Day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The organization says more details are still to come.

If Handel's opens on schedule, the Authors' Day weekend could also be one of the first weekends it's serving on Las Posas Road.

January Brings Work to the Road Itself

The next change on this route is to the road, not the storefronts. City of Camarillo project ST-5113 covers maintenance along Las Posas Road from Arneill Road to Lewis Road, also known as State Route 34. The work includes replacing damaged sidewalk and curb and gutter, replacing irrigation, removing trees and stumps, and planting new trees, all with traffic control. Bids opened September 3, 2026. The city expects construction to start in January 2027, with a construction contract of about $1.3 million. The project starts at the Arneill Road intersection, which is where the Village Square errand run begins.

That puts three changes on the calendar for this corner, in order. Handel's is planned for November. Slice House will open whenever its franchisee announces a date. Streetscape work on Las Posas Road is expected to follow in January. In the meantime, the tenants people actually stop at every week, including Sprouts, Ross, Ace Hardware and Rolling Pin, are staying put.
